Last year Tamborine Mountain College raised $17,368 at their Day for Daniel Fun Run. Bruce and Denise are visiting the College to personally thank them for their contribution and to deliver a child safety presentation.
Overall 10,000 students in 36 schools across Australia participated in Day for Daniel Fun Run 2018 raising over $95,000.
Bruce and Denise Morcombe will be available for Media Opportunities at Tamborine Mountain College at 8.45am. The thank you, launch and child safety presentation will take place from 9.00am.
Schools are invited to host their own Fun-Run on Day for Daniel, the national day of action to raise awareness of child safety. Day for Daniel was created by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and the community is asked to wear red, talk about child safety and raise funding for the cause.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was created in 2005 by Bruce and Denise Morcombe after their 13 year-old son Daniel was abducted from a Sunshine Coast bus stop in 2003. Since creating the Foundation, Daniel's parents have worked tirelessly to provide Australian children with the education, protection and support to be safe from abuse and risk of harm. The Foundation aims to remember Daniel's legacy and assisting young victims of crime.
"School Fun Run is proud to unite with such an important cause and to help a Foundation that is instrumental in protecting and educating our children about their personal safety.
